About Reel Start

Reel Start was founded in 2016 by filmmaker Evan Goldberg (Superbad, The Boys, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem) and educator Adrienne Slover whose mission is to uplift young voices to equip them for a successful future within the entertainment industry. Each year, high schoolers in Los Angeles and Toronto are selected to be part of the Reel Start program. Youth will learn about career opportunities in the film and television industry, while also crafting a live-action or animated short film about a social issue they select. At the end of the program, they collaborate with industry professionals to produce their film.
