1 in 9 suffer from malnutrition.
Local food systems are broken.
In order to change the world and combat this injustice, Refarmers.org establishes farms and gardens that demonstrate regenerative agriculture.
We teach the skills necessary for local communities to support themselves and thrive through food security and self-reliance. Our work addresses 14 sustainable development goals (DSGs). We work with schools, organizations and a network of local partners to create long term regenerative agriculture solutions that empower people.
Organization Overview
* 1,000 plus lives positively impacted by our projects in the first year
* 35 gardens installed as part of our active project currently operating in response to COVID-19 called The Grandmothers Kitchen Garden in Uganda to help feeding the elderly and children orphaned by HIV/AIDS crisis
* Raised $30,000 CAD in individual donations for 2 large earthworks projects completed in 2019 under the umbrella Innovative Communities.org Foundation
* 3 new East Africa Permaculture Projects planned for October 2020 in Kenya and Uganda
*Urban food growing initiatives, demonstrations and workshops in Vancouver, BC
*Registered Canadian Non-Profit, incorporated in January 2020, with recent fiscal sponsorship by Abundant Earth Foundation in the United States
