Challenged!
For years I had been recycling and reusing art and glass making materials. With this in mind I was challenged by my neighbours to re-purpose their used wine bottles. "I started to collect and experiment, using different kiln forming and hot glass blowing techniques. I became increasingly excited as the range of products I was inspired to produce grew - and by using a readily available material already
imported into Singapore, meant i could likewise contribute to the sustainability efforts of our nation state…”
Less is more - living more sustainably
“There is a culture that developed in my homeland of Australia where we needed to ‘make do’ with what we had. This is something I have been keen to adopt Singapore which was initially hard to truly embrace, until now. Making do with the materials and equipment readily at hand, necessities a sense of innovation and exploration to be creative and sustainable."
As one of only a few glass artists/designer/makers in Singapore who knows about glass she has set about creating Refind as a glass brand on a mission for good.
