REFUGIN Project

Refugee integration is a priority on the European agenda, reflecting a mutual process characterised by several challenges, among which individual shortages, discriminatory attitudes, and a lack of coordinated assistance must be highlighted. Amongst these, young refugees are especially vulnerable, as they have to face key developmental stages whilst dealing with challenging resettlement paths, thus requiring holistic integrative efforts. To achieve medium-to-long term integration, the host society and young refugees must be mobilised, fomenting educational and social integration, hence contributing to a more tolerant Europe. The project strives to improve young refugee integration via the improvement of the knowledge and skills of education professionals and NGOs working comprehensively with forcibly displaced youth, as well as through the direct capacitation of young refugees.
