Our farm is located in Agassiz, British Columbia, Canada where we have access to a local strain of algae and pristine alpine water. We are one of the first companies to use proprietary photobioreactors for the commercial production of algae for the purpose of extracting high value bioactive components for the nutraceutical, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The Company generates up to 50% higher yields and a pure, uniform product compared to traditional producers who use open ponds, which are subject to sunlight and weather variations, and outdoor contamination. We use a room temperature oil based cold infusion process which is chemical free.
The Company's first product is Astaxanthin derived from a strain of marine algae, Haematococcus pluvialis (the most abundant source of astaxanthin). H. pluvialis is considered to be the diva of algae and is extremely difficult to grow at scale.
