Rehableader is a learning management system and client communication platform that allows practitioners to assign interactive exercises, track patient progress, and communicate in real-time. Rehableader will use LIDAR/augmented reality technology to assess if patients are correctly performing rehab exercises and shall also provide feedback to practitioners and users.
Canada and the United States have similar age structures, life expectancies and the challenges they are currently facing with future aging. Their population is aging rapidly, with 90 million over the age of 65 projected in just US alone by 2050. Both Canada and the United States are making changes in their healthcare systems to provide easy, affordable access to rehabilitation services to their aging populations. This is a big problem that the healthcare systems in North America will be facing regarding the accessibility and efficiency of rehabilitation regimens and it needs to solved on an urgent basis.
The Rehableader concept was developed through feedback from healthcare practitioners such as chiropractors and physiotherapists regarding the efficacy of prescribed treatment plans to patients. One major shortcoming in the process was lack of supervision and communication in exercises and other recovery regimens patients were assigned to do at home. Other major barriers have been inability of patients to express themselves due to language and medical lingo barriers, lack of customization in the rehab exercises prescribed and deficiency of real-time communication between patients and medical practitioners.
Rehableader will address these pain points by constructing a dynamic platform that will enable practitioners to prescribe an interactive rehab and treatment solution to patients, track their progress and communicate in real time. Rehableader will make use of LIDAR/augmented reality technology to check whether patients are performing rehab exercises in the right manner and then provide feedback
