Reimagining Early Childhood Education

Project Zero, a research center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, is proud to introduce the Reimagining Early Childhood Education initiative, funded by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This initiative aims to explore the diverse landscapes of early childhood education across various contexts, identifying both emerging opportunities and challenges within the field. Recognizing the need for innovative approaches to early childhood education in our rapidly changing world, Project Zero and ADEK are committed to equipping young learners for future success. Our multi-year research agenda focuses on three key objectives: Global Exploration: We will survey a range of international field sites that exemplify unique curricular models, a commitment to quality teaching and learning, and a holistic approach to child development. Collaborative Inquiry: We will engage a cohort of educators throughout the UAE to collaboratively construct a new framework for early childhood education, tailored to meet the needs of today’s learners. Teacher Training Model: We aim to develop a comprehensive teacher training model that will educate, equip, and certify educators in this innovative framework, ensuring high-quality early childhood education across the region. Join us as we embark on this transformative journey to redefine early childhood education and foster a brighter future for young learners in the UAE and beyond.
