Founded in 1970, Relay Settings aimed to produce medium voltage switchgear for the mining, distribution, and industrial sectors. When its owners retired in 2018, Test a Relay gained the intellectual property, maintaining the service for clients across Africa and assuming OEM duties for Relay Settings products until April 2023.
By May 2023, Relay Settings Switchgear (Pty) Ltd (RSS) was established as an independent entity, taking over the OEM function from Test-A-Relay to manufacture the full product range and to offer continued support to existing customers. RSS expanded to include turn-key electrical sub-stations, e-houses, containerised substations, skid-mounted substations, and site installations.
Situated within 10km from Lanseria Airport, as well as established strategic partnerships RSS is fully equipped to support the African market with the aforementioned offerings.
