Our Mission at Relimb is to be a one-stop destination for comprehensive care. We cater to all of the reconstructive needs of our patients, by offering a wide spectrum of services and options that transcend traditional boundaries and improve quality of life.
We founded Relimb in 2018, primarily to bring osseointegration (OI) to the UK. We trained with Professor Al Muderis, one of the pioneers of OI in the modern era, and still collaborate closely with him. We have treated more than 65 patients with OI in the upper and lower limbs (2025). We are active members of the worldwide collaboration of experts in direct skeletal fixation (SIGBAL) through the ISPO and have participated in the recent revision of NICE guidelines on osseointegration.
As plastic surgeons we realised the need for a reconstructive service that could manage all the needs of patients who have recovered from multiple injuries, especially amputees, under a single team. We offer a multi-disciplinary service that includes plastic surgeons, a clinical psychologist, a pain specialist. We collaborate closely with Dorset Orthopaedic for physiotherapy, occupational therapy and prosthetics, as well as Remedy for inpatient rehabilitation.
We are world-renowned experts in targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) and regenerative peripheral nerve interface (RPNI) for the management of phantom limb pain, neuroma pain and the control of myoelectric prosthetics.
We have a broad range of expertise in reconstructive surgery for everything from facial palsy, sarcoma, skin cancer and hand surgery to hypospadias. We are actively involved in research to further improve what we can offer our patients.
