Remesha Design Lab

Remesha Design Lab is a multi-faceted research and design studio that specializes in landscape design, public art, and community engagement. Our practice is inspired by indigenous systems and Afrofuturism: a liberatory school of thought for communities that have tragically experienced the demise of their people, cultural heritage, belief systems and ways of life. It combines ancient wisdom from Africa with technology and creativity to envision social change and alternative futures. We are on a mission to design beautiful and healing landscapes inspired by ancestral wisdom and Afrocentric values. We envision a future with an abundance of places that sustain culture, interconnectedness, and joy. Our commitment to accessibility and equity ensures that every facet of our work is welcoming and meaningful, particularly for historically marginalized groups. We aim to create spaces that uplift culture and humanity while celebrating the interconnectedness of all life. Through attentive listening and collaborative processes, we honor community needs and empower collective stewardship and care. Our goal is to co-create environments that nurture and sustain vibrant, inclusive communities.
