About UK Renal Registry
The UK Renal Registry (UKRR, http://www.renalreg.org/) is a registered charity whose purpose is to use data to improve the lives of patients with kidney disease. In the pursuit of this we are working at the forefront of healthcare technology. We are highly regarded within the renal community and, through our recent Think Kidneys campaign, have received recognition on TV and Radio. UKRR hosts Think Kidneys - a partnership between NHS England & UKRR, working on 3 major programmes 1) Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) 2) Transforming Participation in Chronic Kidney Disease (TP-CKD) 3) Kidney Quality Improvement Partnership (KQuIP) The AKI programme is raising awareness of this harmful & costly condition among health & social care staff with the aim to reduce incidents of AKI. The AKI programme responds to the aims of NHS England’s work on patient safety, which is treating & caring for people in a safe environment & protecting them from avoidable harm Transforming Participation in Chronic Kidney Disease is a programme developed in co-production with patients. The aims are to identify how patient activation has an impact on outcomes & quality of life for individuals living with CKD. The TP-CKD programme responds to the ‘5 Year Forward View’ aspiration -‘We will do more to support people to manage their own health – staying healthy, making informed choices of treatment, managing conditions & avoiding complications’ KQuIP is a dynamic network of kidney health professionals, patients and carers, committed to developing, supporting & sharing quality improvement in kidney services to enhance outcomes & quality of life for patients with kidney disease. KQuIP will improve the lives of those affected by kidney disease by supporting healthcare professionals, kidney units, renal networks & commissioners across the UK to achieve the highest quality of care for patients.
