Rendezvous Capital was formed in 2010 to invest in and provide advisory services to the insurance sector. Clients include Swiss Re and others. -Rendezvous serves as outsourced CIO of onshore and offshore (re)insurers -Rendezvous advised Swiss Re on approximately $100bn in assets. -Rendezvous was a key part of the turn around of Ability Insurance Company—a LTC care company domiciled in Nebraska. Rendezvous personnel served as the Chief Investment Officer of Ability in that turnaround as well as RBC capital management of the group. -Rendezvous priced multiple new product annuity policies, reinsurance agreements, and company acquisitions. -Rendezvous assisted multiple start-up insurers, both onshore and off -Rendezvous has made strategic investments including: -minority interest SC domiciled insurer (position exited) -denovo NE insurer that ramped to $600mm in premium (position exited) -start-up asset manager focused on insurance clients with over $1bn under management (position exited) -multiple first lien mortgages -CLO risk retention vehicle Key investment sectors offering outperformance include structured products and first lien mortgages.
