RED GROUP

RED (Renewable Energy Development) is a new tech-based startup. Our goal is to provide cheap clean energy to the rural areas of Sub-Saharan Africa (Malawi and Zimbabwe) through the use of our innovative renewable energy products. 88% of the population of Malawi currently have no access to electricity due to the lack of infrastructure and lower living wages. RED is able to tackle this problem by Implementing our renewable energy products in the rural areas of Malawi where people from the local community can place a deposit down for our affordable 12V battery packs capable of powering small appliances such as lights, radios, mobile phones and Tv's. The individuals who purchase the battery packs are then able to top up their electricity with small affordable payments in respect to their living wage. Our UK based team consists of 18 members split into 4 departments, Engineering, Business, Outreach and Marketing. Our ambitious Social enterprise aims to expand from being the sole provider of renewable energy to a few communities in Malawi to multiple cities across southern and subsaharan Africa.
