ReNforce provides training and coaching to businesses looking to hire system-impacted people to meet their workforce needs, while simultaneously providing unique training and professional development to improve employment outcomes for career-seekers. Charlotte Garnes founded ReNforce in response to her personal experiences with workplace discrimination after her incarceration. Despite holding both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, Charlotte found herself without work after her employer learned of her criminal history. It became Charlotte’s personal mission to create a nonprofit organization that would work not only with businesses and organizations but also system-impacted individuals who experience similar situations and barriers to employment relating to incarceration or the criminal and legal system. ReNforce was created to provide education and training for businesses that are interested in integrating system-impacted individuals into their workforces and to provide unique training and educational opportunities to improve employment outcomes for system-impacted people. Charlotte is a trained Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion professional with a DEI certificate from the University of South Florida. Her wealth of experience includes: Managing and operating Innovative Staffing Solutions, whose responsibility is to staff and employ the underutilized workforce of justice-involved individuals. Organizing the Dignity LeadHERship Alliance (DLA) collective of directly impacted women successfully experienced with informing policy through lived expertise that advocates for marginalized women internationally ReNforce’s mission is to provide training and coaching to both for-profit and non-profit organizations looking to hire system-impacted people to meet their workforce needs, while simultaneously providing unique training and educational opportunities to improve employment outcomes for system-impacted people
