While working as a F500 chief marketing officer in 2004, Jarvis Cromwell was searching for new ways to improve brand reputation and trust among his company’s stakeholders. At that time, trust in big business and its leaders had sunk to its lowest level in a century. To improve this state of affairs, Jarvis formed a “garage band” of experts, inviting various professional colleagues to join him. They included a renowned media training and crisis coach, an ad agency chairman, several digital experts, a PhD in analytics, brand experts, public relations counselors, management consultants, and others. Among other innovations, the team created a new business process to help companies measure, monitor and manage their reputational performance. Today the RepG Companies include Reputation Garage llc, the original innovation lab and incubator focused on trust and reputation issues, and RepG Advisors a strategic marketing consultancy that works upstream of traditional agencies.
