Re-ply offers modular outdoor dining setups for NYC restaurants using recycled and recyclable materials and provides full-service assembly, maintenance and winter storage, with a convenient monthly leasing option.
Re-ply was founded in June 2020 by BVN, a creative collective of architects, designers, researchers and makers - Australian at heart, with international studios and a global outlook.
Following the COVID-19 lockdowns and Black Lives Matter protests in June 2020, most NYC businesses barricaded their shopfronts with plywood. This material was destined for landfill once it had served its temporary purpose. With a mission to find a second use for the plywood, re-ply’s initiative was to create a cost effective and recycled ‘kit-of-parts’ for restaurant outdoor dining, to assist NYC’s cherished restaurants, cafés and bars to safely reopen.
What began as a momentary response to a city in crisis has become an ongoing initiative. Since 2020, we have built 20+ outdoor dining structures in NYC and continued working closely with some of the best restaurants in NYC to evolve and refine our products.
