Research PIECES is a Deeptech Startup of Biotechnology based on the campus of the University of Poitiers, Southwest of France.
The goals of the startup are to understand the physiology & the physiopathology of the Central Nervous System (CNS) through Research, Development & Treatment.
For that Research PIECES proposes preclinical biological & innovative models to dissect molecular, cellular and tissular mechanisms in a physiological 3D-living tissue environment.
One of our main mission is to propose preclinical innovative models to find the future therapeutic molecules against neurological diseases (neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, infectious diseases, etc.).
Our models are :
- robust & translatable
- physiological
- customized
- an alternative to animal models
They can be used :
- in all the different steps of the early drug discovery (screening, lead of molecules, formulation, test of toxicity, etc.)
- for pathological models of neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Multiple Atrophy System, Alzheimer, etc.), cancer (glioblastome, etc.), etc.
- to understand the impact of the environment on the CNS with the role of pesticides, endocrine disruptors, etc.
- For the Army (against neurotoxins)
- For the Veterinary Industry
After a 1st achieved R&D phase, our 1st models are now available on the market. More complex models of pathologies are still in R&D and will come soon!
Because understanding physiopathology, better diagnosis & finding treatments are major challenges for the medicine of tomorrow, there is a real expectation for efficient preclinical robust & translatable models to BETTER approach human physiology/physiopathology & to allow a BETTER environmental risk prevention.
Research PIECES has the innovation to answer these questions!
And because together we are stronger, one of the main objectives of the startup is also to raise awareness the general public about Research, Development & Therapeutics.
