Julie has been in the fashion/cosmetic industry for 27+ years. She owned her own clothing boutique at the age of 24. 3 years later she began her career in the beauty industry. She has worked for companies i.e., Revlon, Dayton’s, Prescriptives and Sephora in executive positions of sales, management and training. She created and owned one of the largest makeup artist’s agencies and makeup training center in Southern California in the 90’s. Julie developed her own cosmetic brand in 1996 to have makeup for the training center and for the makeup artist’s kits. When Julie was working in the field as an artist, women would say to her, “I love this makeup, it looks so natural and feels so good on my skin now where can I buy it?”
Julie’s philosophy on makeup is that women of all ages, background, lifestyles and skin shades want to be beautiful every day. This is why she created this brand and her trademarked makeup application. It is the only professional cosmetic line that is personalized for an individual woman’s needs through teaching her renowned application: “10 steps to a Beautiful Face TM”.
Julie has resided in the Minneapolis area since 1999 and works out of Metropolis Salon in Deephaven, MN. In addition to her responsibilities as CEO for Julie martin makeup, she is a working makeup artist to several high profile clients including Regis Corporation and several photographers in the Twin Cities. Her credentials include movies, print, makeup trend videos, runway, special events such as weddings and graduation photos and individual consultations.
