Respected

Respected is a charity that aims to empower young people to make healthy, informed choices in the area of relationships and sex through its unique online, interactive film-based RSE schools programme. Started in Dorset, in 2015, by a local GP, Respected is now able to provide resources for all schools in the UK. There is a small team of facilitators who go into schools in Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole to deliver the programme. However, Respected also offers in-person training for teachers in local schools. The programme is designed to support staff at every stage, so contains detailed lesson plans, teacher guidance notes and teacher guidance videos on how to facilitate our resources and to approach difficult subjects such as consent and influence of internet pornography with students. The lesson videos are presented by young adults to engage students & each one signposts young people to services which can offer further support with any concerns in the area of sex and relationships. We have a team of volunteers who work alongside our staff team to facilitate in schools. We are also collaborating with Bournemouth University Digital Marketing students to enhance our social media campaigns. Charity Number: 1160057
