Restful Robotics is developing RITA™, the world's first Robot for Improved Therapy Adherence, to provide patients with PAP therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). RITA™ will integrate ultra low-cost robotics, perception, and ventilator technology so patients can fall asleep free of masks, straps, and hoses. Our perception system will track facial features and estimate the patients sleep state, allowing RITA™ to correctly place and hold the mask on the patient's face throughout the night. Removal attempts will be detected, allowing RITA™ to momentarily retract, and then replace the mask, to ensure therapy adherence. RITA™ will incorporate a ventilator and will sense improper therapy delivery, and will corrent the mask pose and force as needed.
