Resurrected Bites

Established in Jan 2018, Resurrected Bites prevents good quality food from going to landfill. We use the intercepted food "waste" in pay as you feel community cafes to provide delicious, nutritious food, no matter what the customer's budget. Since March 2020, we have closed the cafes due to the pandemic and have been delivering 3 to 7 days' worth of free food to people in food poverty. As of mid-June 2021, we have fed over 15,000 people. In Autumn 2021, we are reopening the cafes and launching 3 community groceries in Harrogate & Knaresborough. These will stock food surplus enabling members to shop for £3-5 a shop. The rationale for this is to move people away from dependency on foodbanks, encourage them to budget for food, give them dignity, and enable people on a low income to access healthy food. Members will also be offered access to free courses such as budgeting, debt management, job clubs, parenting support, cookery etc.
