About Retail Relooped
RELOOPED is a forward-thinking Interreg South Baltic project focused on rethinking packaging systems within the food retail industry. Our goal is to drive the transition towards a more sustainable and resource-efficient economy by tackling the challenges of excessive packaging waste and poor recycling practices. RELOOPED is financed by the Interreg South Baltic Programme and is a joined project by 4 organisations; BOFA, Bornholm, Denmark. IMP-PAN, Gdansk, Poland. Klaipeda University, Klaipėda, Lithuania Sustainable Business Hub, Malmö, Sweeden Through collaboration with COOP Danmark and Żabka, we are testing new circular business models and packaging solutions that promote recycling, reduce waste, and enable the reuse of materials. Our approach includes real-world testing through living labs in Denmark and Poland in 2025, where innovative packaging solutions will be trialed in large retail environments. These labs will help us understand consumer behavior and refine practical solutions for sustainable packaging. In 2025, RELOOPED will also host an open design contest to encourage fresh ideas from innovators, students, and professionals in the field. This will foster creativity and broaden the scope of circular packaging solutions. By engaging with experts, retailers, and consumers, RELOOPED aims to create a new culture of circular shopping, helping to reduce plastic waste and improve recycling efforts in the retail sector. Together, we can build the future of packaging—one that benefits both businesses and the environment.
