RETROFIT55

RETROFIT55 is an #HorizonEU Funded Project that aims to develop decarbonization solutions and green technologies which can be used by shipowners to reduce fuel consumption and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Among the different means to achieve the targets, the consortium will focus on solutions to improve the ship efficiency, including Air Lubrication Systems, Smart Energy Management, holistic Hydrodynamic and Operational optimization, as well as solutions to exploit renewables or zero- and low-emission energy sources, such as Wind Assisted Propulsion, Fuel Cells and hybridization of the propulsion system. The overall objective of RETROFIT55 is to create an advanced web-based Decision Support System (DSS), featuring a catalogue of retrofitting solutions that are up-to-date and ready to be deployed at the end of the project, suitable for different ship types and operational contexts. The DSS will allow combining retrofitting solutions in order to achieve a GHG emission reduction of 35% compared to the original design.
