Founded in 2014 by celebrity chef Art Smith, Reunion exists because America is critically divided, socially and economically, holding everyone back. Our vision is an America moving forward together, united around a common health, opportunity, and dignity. Our work starts in the least resourced neighbourhoods of rural America, where our leaders and constituents have overcome the deepest poverty, racism, and educational gaps in America, with much less assistance than what’s available in urban America. Our boards and leadership are diverse in experience, viewpoint, and identity, and united in respect and vision. Board members joined us out of alignment and trust, and are not paid. Staff are not paid more than the US median average household income, and we are ranked in the top 10% of charities in the US by third parties using industry-standard rubrics and audited data.
