Reuse Everything Institute, Incorporated (REII): REII is a non-for-profit organization dedicated to discovering and rediscovering ways of using knowledge and resources for better ecological management of human activity on our shared planet. Through the Poverty Alleviation- Waste reuse- Small business creation (PAWS) program, REII uses a patent-pending radical reuse machine (RRM) to physically convert waste plastic bottles (WPBs) into a superior and affordable plastic thatching (PT) material for roofing while creating a community-based entrepreneurial business opportunity for those communities that need it most. Plastic Thatch: Plastic Thatch (PT) produced from REII’s technology is superior to other current roofing options. This roofing can be used where natural thatch would be used and provides the additional benefits of longer useful life, reduction of solid waste that must be “land-filled” and day-lighting of interior spaces. PT is a significantly superior roof because it sheds water more efficiently, it vents heat, it is quieter in the rain than metal roofs, it lasts 10 times longer than natural thatch and it allows for daylight penetration yielding a much more hospitable living space.
