I have coordinated designs and documentation including statements of work, final drawings, and non-disclosure agreements with machine shops, casting houses, injection molders, and test labs. DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURING - My work has involved the design of many parts for fabrication processes in plastics, sheet metal, and novel casting techniques. While I applaud the adoption of 3d printers, there are many who think that just because the printer was able to produce it, it is ready for mass production. Not so. I can bridge that gap!
TEST TO STANDARDS - My experience in medical devices has ensured a record of methodical practice, attention to detail and adherence to standards and specifications. It has taught me the rigor of UL-60601-1 (standard for medical electronics) and the value and necessity of the verification and validation processes. This is valuable anywhere in mechanical engineering. I am eager for clients to benefit from this experience!
MECHANICAL DESIGN - Examples of my designs include docking mechanisms, diagnostic devices for measuring moisture, and vacuum components to measure helium concentration. This work has involved test protocols and conventional mechanical analyses, including metrology, tolerance, thermal, stress and fluid analysis. I look forward to what I can help my clients create.
CAD DATA MANAGEMENT - I have developed a wealth of experience in CAD data management systems. Data management is messy and a lack of organization here affects the success and timeliness of a project. I am eager to help clients avoid this pitfall.
