About Rhinomics
Rhinomics is a multinational initiative, working to develop a sustainable, legal, rhino horn trading model that is ethical, regulated, and traceable. A model that ensures the legal trade of rhino horn that promotes sustainable use, biodiversity protection, and equitable economic growth and transformation. We work across nine rhino-range countries and with key decision makers in Africa, Asia, and Europe. We are guided by Rhino Elders and Rhino Vets a group of conservationists, scientists, economists, and wildlife management specialists who together contribute decades of seminal knowledge and on-the-ground rhino management expertise. Our partners inform our strategy to save and recover these species and broaden support for the Rhinomics conservation model. We employ a multi-faceted approach to address the rhino poaching crisis that includes traditional strategies with new and improved ideas and technologies. These include improved security and management tools, technology for forensics, traceability and transparency of horns, and a sustainable finance mechanism for rhino management and protection. We focus our efforts on Policy, Science, Research, Technology, and Finance interventions that we believe are the most important areas for Rhino Conservation today.
