Riba Rocks

At Riba Rocks, we believe in the richness of cultural exchange and artistic exploration. Our residencies provide a unique opportunity for students, graduates and artists to immerse themselves in a world of resourceful creativity, sustainability, and community. We offer a multidisciplinary journey into the world of art, culture, and sustainability with a focus on resillience and low-impact creative practice. You’ll have the chance to work with artists including Sarah Misselbrook and Roser Gay, to experience new sustainable techniques and processes, and to create your own artwork with time dedicated to your creative practice. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Riba-roja d’Ebre. You’ll join us to celebrate local traditions and fiestas, interact with the community, and explore heritage sites including Flix Castle, the 'marvellous' caves of Benifallet and the Poble Vell (Old Town) of Cobera d'Ebre. Experience the beauty of the natural world - our programme includes a visit to the Sebes Nature Reserve in Flix as well as volunteering activities with the Grup de Natura Freixe association which includes bat shelter construction, tree planting and lagoon clearing. All this plus hikes in the mountains and opportunities to engage deeply with the local natural environment. Sustainability is at the heart of our residencies. You'll learn more about low water consumption, low impact living and art practice, zero waste, and other eco-conscious practices as you create art inspired by the environment. You can also work towards creating photography, murals, sculptures and other artworks that could become part of the vibrant street art scene in the local village of Riba-roja d’Ebre.
