Regional Institute for Studies and Capacity Development

The Regional Institute for Studies and Capacity Development (RICD) was established in 2018 under the auspices of the Regional Center on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development for the Near East (CARDNE) which was established in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as an autonomous intergovernmental organization in 1983. RICD will capitalize on its core team’s knowledge and expertise in the region to contribute to the recovery and reconstruction of the region by providing consultancies, advisory services, enhancing capacities, conducting studies, preparing strategic plans, programmes and project documents, in addition to M&E and quality assurance. The core team of RICD possess long and thorough experience in the region, mainly in the fields of Rural and Local Development, Crisis Management, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Environment, Livelihoods, Strategic Planning and Monitoring and Evaluation. The team has conducted studies, prepared strategies and plans and provided capacity development services in the above fields in Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Bahrain, Sudan and Somalia. RICD will contribute to resilience building and achieving sustainable development in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region through; 1. The provision of consultants, experts and advisory services; 2. Conducting studies, research, surveys and formulation of policies, strategies, plans and project documents; 3. Monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance for programmes and projects; 4. Building capacities through; - Identification of institutional constraints and challenges. - Preparation of institutional development strategies and plans (including needs assessments). - Provision of trainings and capacity building.
