The studio's flagship project, Shujinkou, began as a vision to pioneer a new type of gameplay—engaging JRPG mechanics and storylines built with the Japanese language interwoven into all aspects of said mechanics. Over the years, Rice Games Inc. has grown into a global, multicultural team led by its full-time founder, who oversees engineering, design, planning, and management. The team includes 18 talented part-time professionals—artists, composers, narrative writers, and QA testers—who bring diverse expertise from the video game industry. Together, they collaborate to bring Shujinkou to life, united by a shared passion for storytelling and creating awesome experiences. The company operates as a fully remote studio, with team members located across the U.S., UK, Germany, Australia, Japan, and other countries. Rice Games Inc. is headquartered in Los Angeles and Tokyo, where it continues to innovate and expand its creative vision. The studio prides itself on handling all aspects of development in-house, from scenario and lore writing to gameplay design, programming, and marketing.
