Right to Peace (R2P) is an organization of youths with the vision of a world where everyone will enjoy peace such that all human rights are promoted and protected, and development is fully realized. It mobilized the most capable ones of the people, the youths, to attain the most desirable end, which is peace.
Though the economy of Bangladesh has been growing over the past few years, the country has not been showing much progress in other social aspects. The country still has much room for improvement, especially in human rights, sustainable development, and tolerance. The youth of Bangladesh can play a central role in this development. Unfortunately, the youths are currently unable to contribute as per their potential due to the lack of education and employment. However, there is no substitute for trained youth to promote human rights and ensure sustainable development. In this context, R2P aims to ensure 'the right to peace' of the people and to empower the country's youths in the process as much as possible.
The areas of R2P's works include human rights, social justice and equality, democracy and good governance, and humanitarian assistance. R2P has taken up a five points program to bring about positive changes in society. These programs include research, awareness building and dialogue, capacity building and human development, advocacy and networking, and humanitarian support. The organization has already been praised for its many public awareness programs. Right to Peace has already made itself a promising platform for the youths of this country to enhance their knowledge and skill as well as engage in philanthropic activism. It has rendered both classroom facilities and volunteerism opportunities for the youths to develop professional knowledge and skills as well as leadership. R2P envisions to enable the youths of this country to reduce the gap between formal degrees and employability in this country.
