Rio ASE is a boutique firm focused on sustainability and projects, not growth and profit. We founded the company on our passion for rivers, the outdoors and solving problems. We are a small firm with modest plans for growth in order to focus our resources on delivering high-quality service rather than business speculation. We operate with minimal overhead and pass those savings along to our clients in the form of competitive rates. Similarly, we operate with low profit margins, choosing to provide higher salaries to all our staff ensuring a technically superior and cohesive team. Our technical philosophy is also founded in sustainability. We believe that river and floodplain engineering must be based on geomorphic principles that work with the river rather than fighting it to ensure effective, long-term solutions that benefit nature, our clients and the public. Additionally, we believe the ecosystem evolved with the river, and improving river process will inherently improve all connected ecosystem functions. Humans are an undeniable part of every ecosystem, and we strive to design projects that focus on features beneficial to both humans and the natural environment.
