Founded in 2019, Rise In STEM is a newly formed grassroots organization that aims to address the racial diversity gap across science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and fields. Our mission is to level the playing field for Black youth by actively collaborating with community and STEM organizations to break down barriers in academia and beyond. By increasing access to educational and wellness resources, youth are able to build core technical and leadership competencies to ensure they are better equipped to succeed in today’s digital society. Although our target demographic is Black, African and Caribbean youth, the program is inclusive of all youth.
