Rising Hope

Rising Hope was founded in 2013 in Denmark. Together with our local partner, we established a rehabilitation center in Tanzania in 2018 for women who have addiction to substances. This is the only rehabiliation center in Tanzania which is for women and managed locally by women only. In addition, we established an aftercare center including income-generating activities. In 2023, Rising Hope started new projects with female sexworkers in Tanzania and children of sexworkers. All projects are peer-to-peer based. The aim of Rising Hope is to co-develop and support various initiatives that enhance foundations of livelihood for marginalized groups of people.
