River Wilderness Golf & Country Club

River Wilderness Golf and Country Club is a private, member-owned Club located on Florida’s Suncoast in the Sarasota Manatee County area. The Club borders the North shore of the historic Manatee River just off Interstate 75. The golf course, designed by Ted McAnlis, is situated on 150 acres of pristine landscape and is a part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System which blends the property’s natural beauty with an abundance of wildlife. Measuring almost 7,100 yards from the longest of seven tee boxes, the player has the ability to set their own game. River Wilderness also offers one of the best practice amenities in the area. Along with a driving range we offer a 19th hole to practice chipping & putting plus a sand bunker area so Members can work on all aspects of their game! The 3,800 square foot Athletic Center offers outstanding fitness, tennis and swimming programs that are geared to the beginner as well as the advanced athlete looking for a healthy lifestyle. In addition to the latest in exercise equipment, our athletic offerings include a full-time Director, fitness instructors, personal trainers and a massage therapist. A variety of fitness classes are scheduled throughout the week to meet the diverse needs of our Members. Take a relaxing dip in our junior-Olympic size swimming pool, swim laps or register for one of many swimming exercise programs that are available! Enjoy playing a set of tennis on one of four Har-Tru clay tennis courts. Join other players in the River Wilderness Tennis Association for day or evening play, or schedule a private lesson with a USPTA Certified Developmental Coach. The beautiful 27,000 square foot Clubhouse boasts a myriad of activities to suit everyone's needs. Art classes, a choir, card groups, and group trips are just some of the social activities available. Daily lunch and weekly dining, along with specialty theme events provide ample dining experiences.
