The Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College is a unit of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Chennai, which is a branch center of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, West Bengal. It occupies a place of pre-eminence among the Educational Institutions of the Mission in India. On an auspicious day of 21st June 1946, Swami Kailashanandaji Maharaj, the then President of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai ceremoniously inaugurated the College. In a public function held on 1st July 1946, the Professor, Philosopher, and President of India-to-be, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan dedicated the College to the cause of quality education with 20 teachers and 339 students.
Imbued with the spiritual ambience Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Chennai, through its all units, has been endeavouring for more than 75 years to impart man-making and character-building education as envisaged by Swami Vivekananda.
