Mission: Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Nevada creates and supports programs that directly improve the health, education and well-being of children and families. Programs: The Reno Ronald McDonald House®: A “home-away-from-home” for up to 12 families at a time. The children we serve suffer from different medical conditions ranging from premature babies, to children suffering from injuries caused by accidents and more serious ailments such as cancer and diabetes. The Ronald McDonald Family Room®: Offers families with a child in Renown Children’s Hospital a place to rest and regroup just moments away from their sick child. The Travel for Treatment Program: Gives parents travel assistance when a child's medical treatment is not available locally. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®: A mobile outreach clinic granted to our partner Saint Mary's Medical Center to provide medical and dental care, health education and other services to children. The RMHC® U.S. Scholarship Program: A renewable scholarship program which in Northern Nevada is second in number of scholarships award per year only to the Millennium Scholarship.
