Road-Aware is a software system designed to improve safety in the operation of large trucks by reducing the number and severity of crashes, leading to fewer fatalities and injuries to drivers, passengers, and the public. RoadAware Safety Systems LLC (RoadAware) is taking a leadership role to improve trucking safety by offering this technology to reduce trucking accidents and the associated deaths. The Road-Aware software is the only predictive, driver-in-the-loop application that combines GPS information (position and speed) with vehicle dynamics (truck configuration and load) and accurate three-dimensional road geometry to provide advanced warnings and calculated, recommended safe speeds for the driver to safely navigate through difficult road segments typically associated with curves and slopes. It provides the driver with timely alerts (audible and visual) and recommended speeds and warnings with sufficient lead time that the driver can take corrective action.
