Roamer is an app, that lets drastically reduce roaming charges by utilizing destination countries mobile operators infrastructure. User keeps his usual phone number for both incoming and outgoing calls.
Use of other mobile operator GSM infrastructure ensures excellent call quality, while elements of VoIP technology let reduce the costs of calls when abroad by 90%.
Currently it is available for iOS and Android, however Blackberry and Windows Mobile versions are on the road map.
The service can be activated in three simple steps:
1. The user “parks” their number in the application before departure.
2. The user buys any prepaid SIM card (with a minimal data plan) in their country of visit and inserts it in their phone.
3. The user activates their number through the application for use with the new SIM card. After that, the user may both receive incoming calls and make outgoing calls with their usual number while being charged at low Roamer rates.
