VDL RobotSports is a multidisciplinary team participating in the RoboCup Middle Size League, an international robotics competition in which fully autonomous robots play soccer with a regular FIFA ball, with the ultimate goal of defeating the human champions in 2050.
The team consists of engineers employed at high-tech companies in the Netherlands, as well as students from various institutions.
RobotSports is a restart of the Philips RoboCup Team, which previously participated in the RoboCup Middle Size League from 2002 until 2006.
