The Refugee Orientation Centre (ROC) was founded in 2005 by Guillaume Muzombo, Marie-Jeanne Muzombo, and Oscar Bulamba. They were refugees from DR Congo, who successfully sought shelter in New Zealand, only to face a completely new set of problems while adjusting to NZ government systems, culture, and language ROC was created to aid others in similar situations. We have grown to be a critical resource for refugees from Syria, Rwanda, Colombia, Congo, Pakistan, Myanmar, Somalia and Afghanistan. Over 80 volunteers support ROC's practical programmes for children, youth, and adults. ROC's staff has succeeded in fostering a culture of welcoming, compassion, and progress. Our goal is to assist refugees in becoming self-sufficient in New Zealand. Now, ROC operates with the mission of "Promoting Faster and Better Integration of Former Refugees and Migrants into New Zealand Society". We serve more than 1000 people from different ethnic communities both former refugees and disadvantaged migrants. Learn more about us here; https://youtu.be/Q_Yp1dY0CJo
