Operation of Ace Hardware stores began with a single unit in Ocean City, MD in 1995 and today there are eleven Ace Hardware stores in total.
In the summer of 2015, Rommel Chesapeake purchased Survival Products in Salisbury, MD. Survival Products, now Rommel Hearth & Outdoor, is the area’s leader in pellet stoves, wood stoves, fireplaces, and paddlesports products.
Today the company consists of ten Ace Hardware stores, located from Baltimore to Ocean City, MD., Rommel Hearth and Outdoor, and several commercial properties. Rommel Chesapeake employs approximately 240 people in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.
