Ronnie Maher Ryder Cup

The Ronnie Maher Ryder Cup is a team golf competition held biennially to both remember Ronnie who we lost three years ago following a short battle with cancer, as well as raise funds for the Ronnie Maher Rugby Fund and Oesophageal Cancer Research. The Ronnie Maher Rugby Fund is aimed at continuing Ronnie’s passion over many years in Suttonians Rugby Club of helping young players develop and progress into the Senior Team. The fund will help send some of our up-and-coming Suttonians players on rugby exchanges to New Zealand this summer, giving them an opportunity to be coached and play in a high-performance environment to develop their skills. 20% of all funds raised are donated to The Irish Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF). The fund will maintain Ronnie’s legacy in the years ahead.
