About The Room Where It Happens Project
The Room Where It Happensโ, a 6-month project, funded and supported by the US Embassy and Alumni TIES, aiming to address this emerging and scaling issue and challenge, related to the rising role of private rooms/groups in messaging apps in nurturing and empowering the voices of their participants to share, embrace and advocate all kinds of misinformation, through the collaboration of students, alumni, experts, trainers and influencers from both India and Greece. ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ฆ ๐ฅ The Room Where It Happens Project is an innovative and impact-making initiative by four U.S. Department of State Exchange Alumni Betty Tsakarestou (Greece) project leader, Lida Tsene (Greece) Mausumi Bhattacharyya (India) Ankuran Dutta (India), all university professors in Communications, Media, Journalism, Digital innovation and Storytelling. The Room Where It Happens Project is funded through an Alumni TIES small grant for the U.S. Department of State ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ข๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ We embark together with 100 participating Greek and Indian Media and Communications university students, from Communication Media and Culture Dept. Panteion University Athens, School of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Visva Bharati University West Bengal, Gauhati University Asam, St. Xavier's University, Kolkata collaborating in ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ-๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ, ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฑ๐๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฌ, and with the support of expert speakers and workshop leaders from Greece, India, and the USA, in a series of co-creation-prototyping- testing, design sprints, simulations and digital newsroom content production. ๐๐จ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ฌ! ๐ We invite you to join and follow The Room Where It Happens Project experimental and prototyping journey.
