De Roosevelt Foundation werd opgericht in 1982 om de Four Freedoms Awards Ceremonie elk even jaar in Middelburg te organiseren. De Foundation werkt daarbij nauw samen met het Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute in Hyde Park, New York. Wij streven er naar om jong en oud te inspireren om het gedachtegoed van Franklin en Eleanor Roosevelt levend te houden en om met hun elan de problemen van deze tijd op te lossen.
