In 2022, David and Tammy Wentlandt embarked on a vibrant journey with Root Beer MKE, rooted in a rich tradition dating back to 1969. It all started with Jim and Vi Crocker's innovative venture at the Minnesota State Fair, featuring two unique root beer barrels. This initiative blossomed, gracing the Wisconsin State Fair and Milwaukee's ethnic festivals, spurred by the popularity of standalone beverage concessions. The legacy was handed over to Bob Crocker in 1996, who significantly expanded the enterprise, adding more barrels and introducing a distinctive root beer float trailer in 1993. Bob's sons, Ryan and Cameron, also played crucial roles, balancing their contributions with their summer activities. Sadly, following Bob's passing in 2013, the business saw a period of reflection, leading to a pause in 2019. David and Tammy, introduced to this opportunity by Trey and Robin Fazio, revived the brand in 2022 with a fresh perspective. They rejuvenated the classic barrels and float trailer, infusing new life with updated branding, lighting, and painting, all while juggling their full-time careers. Dedicated to maintaining high standards and fostering community connections, Root Beer MKE made its revamped debut at Polish Fest in June 2023. The new logo, unveiled there, pays homage to the longstanding legacy of the Crocker family. We are deeply thankful to Carla Crocker for her invaluable insights and support in this new era.
