Roots and Shoots Learning encapsulates a range of educational interventions and support for children and young people dealing with exams, additional needs and the adults who support them. Using the latest research all of our interventions are informed by applied educational neuroscience, as coined by Dr Lori Desautels: "Connections Over Compliance"). We have two programmes running currently - 1. Online courses & online Academic coaching for frustrated parents and their anxious or demotivated exam teens, and
2. A nature-based learning programme for KS2-KS4 students, The "Infinity Growth" programme which functions as a 1 day per week Alternative Provision for children at risk of exclusion and/or with SEND and additional vulnerability, e.g. SEMH (Social, emotional and mental health needs) . The Infinity Growth programme provides children with access to sensory-rich environments in order to build awareness of the brain-body connection. We are distinctive in the wraparound approach we take which includes providing extended and bespoke CPD experiences for the school staff as well as parent/carer support for the adults supporting the child holistically. This programme is about strategic "Capacity-building" for all involved in the life of the child to increase social inclusion and educational engagement.
