ROSA, short for Research on Social Architecture Collective, is a research- and design studio based in Oslo, Norway. The studio was conceived as a continuation of the long term collaboration between ROSA's founding partners Iris Røise Aasebø and Mikael Oscar Loum Johansen. Since its official founding in 2025, the studio has focused on public health, social sustainability, and user-group informed design to address complex societal issues related to marginalization and inequity.
Through its humanistic informed methodology, the studio advocates for strategic implementation of landscape architecture in public health crises. Key to the practice are the notions of right of public spaces and the right to equal health.
ROSA's work combines advanced research on user-group needs with in-depth cross-disciplinary analyses, in order share and promote more socially inclusive and theoretically informed approaches to architecture, landscape architecture and urban development.
