Route66 is een intensief persoonlijk ontwikkelingsprogramma voor en door nieuwsgierige D66’ers van tussen de 25 en 33 jaar oud. Het programma duurt twee jaar: ieder jaar ronden twintig deelnemers het traject af en stromen twintig nieuwe Routers in. Er zijn in totaal dus veertig Routers en alle activiteiten organiseren zij zelf. De Routers verdiepen zich in politieke onderwerpen, ontwikkelen politieke vaardigheden en verbreden hun sociale netwerk binnen en buiten D66.
