We offer a simulation model where you can accurately simulate and see exactly how sound is perceived through the skull bone. This is done by sending in frequencies through the skull model at specific places. The model can be developed to your specific field of interest. The finite element model comprises eight domains: (1) the brain, (2) cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), (3) eye balls, (4) inner ears, (5) cartilages, (6) cortical bone (including teeth), (7) soft bone (diploë), and (8) soft tissues (including skin, muscles, and connective tissues) and depending on your needs you can change these parameters, for example the thickness of the skin. If other parameters are interesting to look at it is possible to expand the model. One unique feature with the Model is the 3-layer sandwich design of the skull bone similar to real skull-bone where soft spongy bone (diploë) is interposed between inner and outer layers of dense cortical bone. The data collected from the model can be used to calculate sound/vibration transmission in the skull which can be used to estimate the sound level that the product generates. This is important for designing the placement, distance and sizing for products in order to reach optimal audibility. But also to create better sound quality, that is to make all frequencies equally audible, so that the sound gets the right tone. The model that is developed can be used to analyze sound in different aspects. This can help to develop new products and it can also be devoted to increase sound quality to already existing products.
